ANALYZING THE FAKE DMCA

Let’s analyse this fake DMCA Notice –

Amin C. Khoury

The DMCA was filed on March 17, 2016 by one ‘Akado Oy’, on behalf of a website called ‘America.Pink’. It stated that an article published on this website was copied and republished on a famous Gossip website ‘ GossipExtra.com’ without it’s permission.

Here’s the rest of the DMCA Notice –

So, that infringing content was published at – http://www.gossipextra.com/2015/05/08/amin-khoury-arrested-battery-palm-beach-4772/

According to the URL structure, the date of publishing of this article was 8th May, 2015.

For this is to considered a legitimate DMCA Notice, the article at America.Pink wesite must be published on or before 8th May 2015.

Unfortunately, the website America.Pink was not active before Oct 2015. The domain was registered on 22nd Oct 2015, and this is therefore a fake DMCA.

What has happened is that the perpetrators planted the article on America.Pink, backdated it and filed DMCA on Google.

So what happened ?

First of all, America.Pink vanished after the crime was done. Dead. No traces left.

Secondly, the original article published at GossipExtra.com disappeared from source. Now, this usually doesn’t happen. The DMCA was sent to Google and not GossipExtra.com. So there was no reason for this legitimate article to be removed, unless – GOSSIPEXTRA was forced or paid-off to do so.

Here is the tweet which still has the (removed) link –

Here is a copy of the removed article, purely for reference and educational purpose –

PALM BEACH — Amin C. Khoury, the son of the prominent Palm Beacher Amin J. Khoury who’s running a multi-BILLION dollar company out of Wellington, was just arrested for beating his wife.

According to a police report, Amin C. Khoury, 49, was arrested Wednesday night at his North End home and charged with battery.

Here’s what led to the arrest:

Amin C. Khoury and his 51-year-old wife were drinking wine together, despite the fact they’re getting a divorce. In time, he headed off to bed about 9 p.m.

The wife told police she snooped on her soon-to-be-ex-husband by searching text messages on his cell phone.

She found what she was looking for, explicit notes from another chick.

Things got heated up.

When police responded to their Tradewind Drive house at 9:11 p.m., Khoury said his why-are-we-still-sleeping-in-the-same-house-soon-to-be-ex-wife attacked him while he was asleep and threw his glasses in the pool.

Khoury’s wife said he struck her, threw her to the bed and complained of injuries to her left jaw. She had visible scratch marks on her right arm and left wrist.

He allegedly admitted he did use force, but only in self-defense.

Amin C. Khoury is the son of super successful Amin J. Khoury, founder and chairman of the Wellington-based B/E Aerospace.

The NASDAQ-traded company is worth about $4 billion and employs more than 10,000 people worldwide.

Locally, the elder Khoury is known as a generous donor and volunteer on the boards of the Kravis Center, Jupiter Medical Center and Scripps Research Institute.

SO WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO HIDE ?

That’s easy to guess. Have a look at this headline –

MUGSHOT — Son of Prominent Palm Beach Philanthropist, Businessman Amin J. Khoury Arrested in Domestic Violence Incident!

Here’s an excerpt from that article –

PALM BEACH — Amin C. Khoury, the son of the prominent Palm Beacher Amin J. Khoury who’s running a multi-BILLION dollar company out of Wellington, was just arrested for beating his wife.

According to a police report, Amin C. Khoury, 49, was arrested Wednesday night at his North End home and charged with battery.
