ANALYZING THE FAKE DMCA
There are 2 fake websites involved in these fake DMCAs –
The first website, noticiasdelatina.tk, is based on a FREE .tk domain system . It was hosted for FREE at hostinger.in, the same platform used in many other fake DMCA cases. Let’s analyze the oldest article posted there, dated 21 Dec 2012 – http://noticiasdelatina.tk/internacional/brasil-tendra-el-mas-bajo-crecimiento-de-suramerica-entre-2011-y-2013/ . The URL structure of the featured image is http://noticiasdelatina.tk/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/16.jpg . Notice the date May 2016, thats when the OLDEST article was published.
So, when were the articles mentioned in the fake DMCAs published on noticiasdelatina.tk – yes, May 2016 … The entire website was actually uploaded 2 months ago, and days before the DMCAs were filed. The site has only 34 pages indexed in Google
The second website is even better. The now-defunct website was first registered on 1st may 2015, by an Indian resident called ‘Shrikant Mathur‘ in Delhi, India. The webmaster’s email is ‘[email protected]‘. This guy is a habitual offender and likely involved in several other cyber crimes, including fake DMCAs, perjury and impersonation. Our investigations have revealed that the said person ‘Shrikant Mathur’ has also used stolen creditcards on multiple occasions and is a likely candidate for future investigations into phishing scams. But we’ll come to that later.
What is fascinating here is a fake Indian website, copy-pasting a Spanish article for a fake DMCA takedown. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must see the report here – https://www.lumendatabase.org/notices/11019321
SO WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO HIDE ?
Alex Saab, owner of el Fondo Global de Construcción, was always in the news over questionable business conducted in many countries. And unsurprisingly, it was covered in the media. A lot of money is at stake in construction business, and a good reputation can be key to lock in few more deals.
It seems a clean sheet is what Alex Saab and el Fondo Global de Construcción were after. They have new questions to answer now….
EDITOR’S COMMENT : For those who might ask – ‘why and how do we interject that ‘el Fondo Global de Construcción’ has something to do with this fake DMCA. Couldn’t it be a coincidence ?’, we will say this – When someone goes and creates a whole new fake news site, falsifies his/her identity and submits fake DMCA to try and de-list some very targeted content on Google, it signals intent and a plan. It is obvious that ‘el Fondo Global de Construcción’ or someone they hired was directly involved in this crime. el Fondo Global de Construcción also cannot plead ignorance in this matter, since this notice on Google search is hard to miss, really.
