ANALYZING THE FAKE DMCA
This seems straight-forward.
Lauri J. Goldstein runs a respectable law-firm in Florida. Everything is where it belongs, except a pesty little link which crops up on Google search results.
Just wouldn’t go, in spite of all SEO and Marketing efforts.
Along comes a Reputation firm which promises a permanent solution to this problem. And Lauri J. Goldstein and her firm takes the gamble.
Let us analyze the DMCA notice –
The DMCA was filed by Times Now, a News Channel in India. This hints at the location of the Reputation firm, unless of course Lauri was having curry that night.
And finally, the claim that the article published at abovethelaw.com was illegally copied from Times Now’s Free Blog 🙂
We have covered the fake Blog set up at timesnowworldnews.blogspot.com on several of our other reports, including –
Same modus operandi. Same Reputation firm maybe.
Being a lawyer, Lauri J. Goldstein would understand that ignorance is NOT a defense that could work for her. She was promised something which was not possible, technically or legally, and if she hired someone to deliver unrealistic results, she MUST have an idea that it is probably going to be something ‘magical’.
And here it is – Abracadabra !!
SO WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO HIDE ?
Legal battles are rarely public. But when they do, dirt is thrown everywhere. In an article published in July 2015, Lauri Goldstein’s partner said this –
“I practice law,” a defiant Schmitt said during an April 3 deposition. “I don’t know what Lauri Goldstein did, but I can tell you if she practiced law, it wasn’t very much. She would come in at noon, have a two-hour lunch, shop online for a few hours and then leave.”
It further states –
This isn’t Goldstein’s first brush with controversy. She had her license suspended in 2013:
Lauri J. Goldstein was suspended by the Florida Supreme Court for 91 days in 2013. She was suspended after her firm misled a client into thinking a $5,000 settlement was reached in a restaurant slip-and-fall case when the money came from the Goldstein firm after it inadvertently missed the statute of limitations.
EDITOR’S COMMENT : For those who might ask – ‘why and how do we interject that ‘Lauri J. Goldstein’ has something to do with this fake DMCA. Couldn’t it be a coincidence ?’, we will say this – When someone goes and creates a whole new fake news site, falsifies his/her identity and submits fake DMCA to try and de-list some very targeted content on Google, it signals intent and a plan. It is obvious that ‘Lauri J. Goldstein’ or someone they hired was directly involved in this crime. Lauri J. Goldstein also cannot plead ignorance in this matter, since this notice on Google search is hard to miss, really.
