ANALYZING THE FAKE DMCA
Sometimes, you just got to applaud the creativity of these scammers. This one deviates from setting up a fake website and then filing a DMCA. What these scammers have done in this case is a 2 step approach
Step 1 – Post a piece of content from a website on the target page as a comment, anonymously. In this case, the comments were posted on the target reports at ripoffreport.com by anon on 07 Feb 2016.
Step 2- Wait for a few days, and file DMCA notices on Google by impersonating the author of the original content. There’s a good chance that everything will check out and Google might de-index the target link from Google. In this case, the DMCA was filed within 3 days, on 10 Feb 2016.
That’s exactly what was done here. The perpetrators copied a piece of content from a ‘free’ e-book at Amazon.com – ‘Escrow Scams: The Clear and Present Danger to Americans‘ , and posted it on the target Ripoff page as anonymous comment. After 3 days, they identify themselves as the author ‘Dean Tran‘ and file fake DMCA notice at Google.com.
It’s just that the real Dean Tran has no idea when we asked him about these DMCAs. He can be reached at [email protected] …
SO WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO HIDE ?
Mandrien Consulting and the boss Russell ‘Rusty’ Soloman has a complaint against them on Ripoff Report. The allegations are serious and focus on Mr.Russell’s past about having to resign as an attorney after an FBI investigation tying him up with a scam along with Dr. Katz. They hired people to get leads from “ambulance chasing” and talking injured victims into seeing this doctor for less than good treatment. Then the doctor would convince them to see Russell for their legal services. Seems like a nice set up except its illegal. It seems that Russell was paying Katz and the runners finders fees.
Now someone is committing another crime to cover up this Ripoff Report on Google. We wonder why…
EDITOR’S COMMENT : For those who might ask – ‘why and how do we interject that ‘Mandrien Consulting’ has something to do with this fake DMCA. Couldn’t it be a coincidence ?’, we will say this – When someone goes and creates a whole new fake news site, falsifies his/her identity and submits fake DMCA to try and de-list some very targeted content on Google, it signals intent and a plan. It is obvious that ‘Mandrien Consulting’ or someone they hired was directly involved in this crime. Mandrien Consulting also cannot plead ignorance in this matter, since this notice on Google search is hard to miss, really.
