ANALYZING THE FAKE DMCA
It is unclear to us as to why some stupid people would still attempt fake DMCAs to clear their reputation.
Then we come across cases like these and realize that these tricks still work. This incident formed Metronews.ca to remove a valid news article. WOW.
Let’s analyze this case –
So, a fake News Portal, set up with planted content backdated for the one purpose of filing a fake DMCA – timesnowworldnews.blogspot.ca , filed a claim against MetroNews.ca.
The webmaster at MetroNews.ca didn’t want to waste any time deliberating on the credibility of this DMCA notice, and removed the link.
Of course, we are going to get in touch with Metronews.ca and inform them about our investigation which should essentially reinstate the original article where it belongs.
This fake News Portal (impersonating a major News Agency from India – Times Now), has been involved in dozens of fake DMCAs. Here are a few fake DMCAs they filed –

SO WHAT WERE THEY TRYING TO HIDE ?
A 28-year-old London man has been charged with a cyber crime after a 17-year-old girl posted an online ad that she was looking for a job.The teen told police she received what are being described as inappropriate emails of a sexual nature after the suspect responded to the ad. The police investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at a Marigold Street residence.Michael McIndoo is charged with telecommunication with a person younger than 18-years-old for criminal offences.Anyone who knows of someone younger than 18-years-old who has received an inappropriate response after replying to a job posting on a classified web site is being urged to contact the London Police Service’s cyber crime unit at 519-661-5670.
EDITOR’S COMMENT : For those who might ask – ‘why and how do we interject that ‘Michael McIndoo’ has something to do with this fake DMCA. Couldn’t it be a coincidence ?’, we will say this – When someone goes and creates a whole new fake news site, falsifies his/her identity and submits fake DMCA to try and de-list some very targeted content on Google, it signals intent and a plan. It is obvious that ‘Michael McIndoo’ or someone they hired was directly involved in this crime. Michael McIndoo also cannot plead ignorance in this matter, since this notice on Google search is hard to miss, really.
