Let us analyze the false DMCA –

The DMCA, pretending to be from Telegraph Journo ‘Nicola Harley‘, claims that a news article published at Telegraph was re-published without consent on various websites, including It’s an old trick used by Reputation firms, where they impersonate a credible entity to file a DMCA notice against dozens of links, and quietly slipping in the target link, hoping that Google staff might not check so diligently and might remove it along with other URLs.

In this case, the content on Ripoffreport was published in 2015, whereas the Telegraph article was from March, 2017.  It cannot be a valid DMCA in any case.  Upon checking with the journalist and the media house, we confirmed that Telegraph has nothing to do with any of these DMCAs.

It is the same old story. Someone has a negative review at Ripoff Report. It ranks high on Google and hurts their reputation as well as business.

Here is what the review says about him –

I felt I should add this. I did some more research into this person to see who they really are. Public records and a few internet searches show that Amazon Reviewer RWM is a man named Richard Warren Meirowitz who lives in West Babylon, New York. He is poor quality attorney in a lower class Long Island suburb. He lives in a small 500-600 square foot senior housing and appears to be around age 72.

The New York bar association has him listed as

Richard Warren Meirowitz

In case you are one of the ‘beneficiaries’  listed in this report and are wondering what really happened, we suggest you look within. If it wasn’t you, or your associates, it is definitely the ‘Reputation’ or ‘SEO’ firm you have hired in the past. Perhaps even your law firm. So, instead of blaming us for this article, you must grill your Reputation/SEO firm and look for answers. We are merely publishing the facts available on public database and have nothing against you personally. It is more than likely that the service you hired indulged in criminal methods to deliver results for you.

Meanwhile, we are awaiting more information from Richard Meirowitz & Google to ascertain who was behind this fake DMCA. We’ll update this page once we have more information. If you have any information to add to this investigation, get in touch with us at [email protected]

Soon after we published the first set of our investigation reports on fake DMCAs, we managed to generate interest from online media such as Techdirt, Adweek and Huffington Post. Some of the key stories included our revelations on Torrence Boone ,, Julia Scelfo and aReputation. We also shared unpublished data and information with 3 different law agencies who looked into this scam.

And we got results. We dented this fake DMCA industry and made sure we act as deterrent to the rogue reputation firms indulged in these criminal practices. Here are some of the outcomes and changes we made possible with the help of several other citizen lawyers and agencies –

Fake Fraudulent DMCA might seem inconspicuous, until its you at the receiving end of this crime. This is not a prank. This is not an inconvenience. This is not random. These fake DMCA cases are calculated criminal schemes targeting very specific and rather important information/content. These hitjobs are usually against media, in order to help their clients hide important information from public’s eye, all in the name of Reputation Management. Millions of dollars are spent doing this, and if no one wants to bring this topic to the fore, we will.

Our team will not constantly monitor and publish these reports on a DAILY basis without fail. And we do not plan to publish and forget. We will take constructive steps in order to expose the faces behind this scam, and to try and undo the damages. AND IF YOU INDEED PART OF THIS SCAM, WE WILL ENSURE THAT YOU GET WHAT’S COMING YOUR WAY.

A malicious and false report was published by me by Ripoff Report. I contacted Ripoff Report to delete it and they refused. I was unable to ascertain the maker of the report. I eventually hired Repusurance, an SEO firm, to try to delete the report. Not only did Repusurance fail to do so, but my problems worsened as a result of what Repusurance apparently did to “fix” my problem with Ripoff Report.

    Can you help?

It is unfortunate that companies like Ripoff Report, Dirty Scam, and Web Activist are allowed to publish malicious reports without verifying the facts. I do not know Nicola Harley, the complainant herein, and have no involvement with her. Yet, based upon her claim, Web Activist has published this malicious report without ascertaining its truth. I have asked Web Activist to contact me but they have failed to do so. There is no truth to any claim against me for fraud, impersonation, or fake copyright take down, particularly with respect to Amazon. I have no involvement or dealings with Amazon except… Read more »

The only thing I did to attempt to suppress the Ripoff Report articles was to retain a company called Repusurance to look into the matter. I do not know what Repusurance allegedly did or did not do in my behalf. If anything illegal was done to suppress the Ripoff Report articles, it was done by Repusurance without my knowledge or consent. I was not satisfied with their results since they were not successful in suppressing the Ripoff Report articles and I so advised them. Since then Repusurance has been impossible to contact and failed to refund my retainer which I… Read more »

The false and defamatory remarks published about me by Ripoff Report and Dirty Scam have been deleted since they contained false, malicious and defamatory comments about me. Since your false and defamatory remarks about me were based upon Ripoff Report’s comments, I suggest that you delete your remarks, as well.

I never filed a “fake DCMA notice” and have no knowledge what it is.
